So you're a teacher, a parent, a counselor or just someone who cares about kids! This site is for you. More than probably any other time in history, we have reached a critical period for addressing the needs of kids. From the United Nations "Rights of the Child" treaty to IDEA to No Child Left Behind - our nation is attempting to right the wrongs. We can do it - as individuals - one child at a time.
My purpose for this site is to give you some resources to understand how to have the best teaching (or parenting) experience - particularly with students who experience mental health, emotional, and behavioral challenges - and how to help kids move forward academically and socially. My expertise comes largely from my experiences in the field of special education but being a mom has significantly contributed to my education as well. Look for classroom anecdotes, teaching strategies, management tools, and recommendations for further information and updates to my blog.
